Marta Carrascosa creates naive paintings inspired by everyday scenes that she translates into colourful portraits, books and sculptures: weedings, popular markets, people, villages…
She traverls constantly between Africa and Europe, combining her work as a designer and illustrator with her professional activity as a cultural consultant.
Her nomadic life inspires her to create Mtita Bamako, a design brand producing limited editions of objects with an unusual mix of styles and influences.
Countries like the Netherlands and Belgium, Namibia and Mali, Ethiopia and Tanzania, Andalusia and Morocco…All bring inspiration and colour to her life and work.
Marta is the author and illustrator of four children’s books and has participated in international artistic projects, exhibitions and residencies.
